  • Nearest airport: 30 minutes by boat taxi - IF YOU ARRIVE IN VENICE BY CAR (We highly discourage it because there is no use for a car in Venice and if you want to visit nearby towns such as Vicenza,Verona,Padua...you have plenty of fast train. Besides a week in Venice is a time just sufficient to see the ....must see)leave the car at the TROCHETTO on the right of the long bridge. Take a vaporetto :line 82 direction Rialto.Step down at the Rialto station and ask for Santa Maria Formosa.7 minutes walking ! Or take a water taxi and ask " Santa Maria Formosa-front of the church." Step down.Turn left.Walk 80 yds and you will be in front of # 5849 IF YOU ARRIVE BY TRAIN:just in front of the train station you can find a water taxi ( always ask for the price !).Or take a vaporetto line 82 direction Rialto.IF YOU ARRIVE BY AIR : I strongly recommend the water taxi .At the arrival exit ,on the left ,English speaking hostesses will direct you to the dock. miles
